Customer Reviews & Ratings
5/5 - by DaveMike does great work, knows his stuff, is personable, and listens carefully to his clients. He does great setup work, bringing the best out of the guitars and basses that are entrusted to him; he does excellent work on necks: refretting, dressing frets, etc. and gets them into the shape that they should be in (but usually are not) when brand new. Mike has reslotted the nuts and set up three of my acoustic-electric basses (a Michael Kelly Club Deluxe and two Epiphone El Capitans) in the past six months; they now play like butter...I never realized how well a professional set up could benefit the playability of a guitar up until I met up with Mike. Mike also builds guitars (he has some really nice ones displayed in his shop) and does repairs for a few repair shops and music stores that are Martin-certified repair centers. Recently I had a malfunction of one of the Epi's body-mounted preamps: I figured out what where the problem was located in the system and then turned it over to Mike to complete the work in a partially disassembled state. He and I brainstormed some options for the repairs (replacement, rewiring, or attempting to repair the preamp, considering the financial costs all of the time); Mike was glad that I did the initial troubleshooting instead of just dumping the problem on him. He decided to attempt a repair of the preamp (which I know was a dicey job or I would have done it myself) and did so within one day of the day I dropped off the bass...can't ask for more than that! Mike strives for a one-week turnaround time from the time a guitar is left with him for repairs until the job's completed. I fully recommend this shop for any of your guitar repair or building needs.
5/5 - by Sean KMike is very professional, friendly and the best guitar repair man this side of the Mississippi. He has and can fix any thing. From an ole\' Martin to a China made electric replica, you name it, he does it like it was his own. As an acoustic guitar builder himself and he really knows his way around an instrument. Mike is a seasoned repair man with more years under his belt, then I am old. He is one of those guys, where you can really tell, he loves his work. I can’t say enough. I have seen Mike Haney also teach people when he gives you a simple setup, so you are more the wiser. A first class act.
5/5 - by Mark HRecently had Mike set up, replace my original pickups, and replace the two pots on my vintage Fender P Bass. Work is of high quality and the bass plays better than when first bought. I highly recommend Mike for your guitar/bass repairs as he is a true professional really likes what he does.
